Dreaming of Yesteryear Jul 19, 2010
By Patricia G. Saunders
"pats1403"
Lakota Dreams has an outstanding setting, the Dakota Territory, and main characters, Nate Henderson, Custer and the 7th Cavalry, and members of the Sioux nation. The post-Civil War years spilled turbulence into every aspect of life across the U.S. Greed and avarice were fed by a gold rushes and land rushes across the West. Hundreds of tents and lean-tos sprouted, some growing into towns along Conestoga and train tracks west. Amid all this, Nate's efforts on behalf of the Sioux bring to mind character traits exhibited on the silver screen by John Wayne, Gary Cooper, and Kevin Costner. The fates of Nate, Custer's men, and the Sioux are graphic reminders of what happens when only one group of citizens is in charge. Anyone who loves reading about the West will enjoy this tale.

Gripping Saga of the West Sep 06, 2011
By David A. Steitz Greenwood has done an exceptional job of combining a realistic portral of life on the frontier of the 1870's and an unpredictable plot that will leave you in suspense until the final page. As enjoyable as McMurtry and a great read whether you're a fan of Westerns or not. Bravo!
