4Real life story on Grief - Helpful and Inspiring  Sep 10, 2009
Thank You Julie for being real, open and honest with your process and life experiences around the death of your son. Having lost a daughter suddenly in 2008 it was helpful to hear another mothers story and see how similar our experiences are around this event. Life is just life and we keep walking the path of transformation and healing. I have learned that you never get over the loss of a child, they are with you everyday in a new way. I experienced how you grew and continue to help others in many ways from this loss with Courage, Wisdom and Grace on every page. Blessings and Love to all who read this book as I know you probably have also lost a child.

5A truly inspiring and insightful journey  Apr 10, 2009
The author's journey through great moments of grief and the spaces in between is something that most people can relate to, in some way or another. Even if we haven't experienced the same life changing losses that she has, there is so much to be learned from how she moved through the great shifts in her life. I found so much affirming wisdom in her words. The content was amazing and her writing style easy to relate to and enjoy. This book was a pleasure to explore on many levels.

5An inspiring guide for grief  Feb 12, 2009
I loved this book. It goes right to the CORE of what it is like to experience grief and loss on a deep level. The author's experience and reaction to losing her son, father, business and money in such a short period of time is truly inspiring. Instead of giving up, she walked through her grief, dared to hope, and ultimately ended up making a positive difference in the world for others. This book is beautifully written and helped me remember what is really important in life...

5not just about recovering  Jan 20, 2009
I bought and read Julie Lange's LIFE BETWEEN FALLS, and hope that all my decisions would be so worthwhile.

Having had many conversations about grief and grieving with my mother who worked as a CSW in a hospice program, and having had to walk that road of loss myself (although, thank heavens, not involving the loss of a beloved child as did Julie), I've been acquainted with the struggle of grieving and its devastation. The term "recovery" has so often been used.

Yet no one "recovers" from a great loss---the person you were before has been changed forever. This is acknowledged in Julie's book. She shows how her journey, while not "successful" in recovering herself, did help her be reborn. Any birthing process is dramatic, and Julie demonstrates how from this drama, by being true to what she experienced and felt, she was born anew, and grew, and made growth happen around her.

Hers is an amazing story, and I believe the truth of every word she has beautifully written. And I will keep this book to remind me that pain can be transformative in a good and bountiful way.

5For those who grieve  Jan 09, 2009
The back cover of this book says it is "a Guidebook for Those Who Grieve." Since I'm one of those, I read it from cover to cover as soon as I received it. I was completely engaged early on, first by the author's opening words: I am no one you ever heard of.....I'm simply a mom who has traveled that dark road every mother dreads above all others-the death of a child"; secondly, by a quote from Walt Whitman about death; and thirdly by the photo of Justin Lange at age 15, that moved me deeply.

Julie Lange's account of her experiences dealing with her son's death and the deaths and losses that followed is incredible. She describes her feelings without apology or self-pity. That someone could survive these terrible traumas and use what she learned to benefit others is very inspiring to me.

This is a story of living through tragedy with honesty and patience. I feel encouraged to go on through my own darkness with this guidebook for light.
