Important Concept-poor quality writing Nov 21, 2009 I got this book because I hoped it might help family members who are living with MS. The writer is sincere and raises important issues about dealing with this devastating disease. Unfortunately, he is not an accomplished writer and apparently did not have the benefit of a good editor. The book is rambling and lacks sufficient detail to "grab" the reader. I'm sorry I can't recommend it.

"AN IMPRESSIVE, PASSIONATE MEMOIR FOR THE LOVE OF LIFE!" Jul 30, 2009 As I read through the life of Chris M. Tatevosian, his touching story struck a chord, sending chills up my spine. Immediately, I had a flashback of the past twenty years of a friendship with a family that I wouldn't trade for the world. A Doctor that I had the honor of meeting in New York, who had multiple sclerosis for many years, and directed a hospital for rehabilitation. His daughter, and I were best friends. At age twenty-five, she was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. As I became part of their family, and helped as much as I possibly could, I learned what this disease can do to everyone involved. Chris pours out his heart with
unbelievable courage to tell the world about his mistakes, how you can still love life, and once again see the light at the end of the tunnel. The author tells the readers about his feelings, emotions, and experiences as multiple sclerosis progressively worsened. More important, he describes how a disability can not only destroy the person who has it, but everyone he comes in contact with. In many cases, the misery and anger felt by the person who is disabled is also felt by his caretakers, and loved ones. This memoir of tender feelings is heartfelt, funny, and uplifting. The story is enormously entertaining as we read about a life lived by a man who is filled with faith, and spirit. His encouraging words conveyed to the public to be there for the joy, the tears, and each other, will truly leave an afterthought in the mind of every reader.
I recommend this book to everyone who had to deal with a disability of any kind, and to everyone who is married, or is engaged. Chris clearly defines the building blocks of marriage, why those blocks may begin to crumble, and how to prevent those blocks from falling. The trials and tribulations of Chris M. Tatevosian's life is an inspiration to all. "LIFE INTERRUPTED: IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT ME" is as heartwarming and emotional as PATCH ADAMS with Robin Williams.

Life Interupted Jul 08, 2009 It is good to read a males perspective of this debilatating disease. All of the books that I have read have been written by woman.
I felt the book was very honest and not embelished. It kept to the point's that he was trying to make. Yes it is not all about me. And a sense of humor is very important for ones coping abilities. I am a woman who has had this dreadful challenging disease for about 50 years. I felt compasion for his challenges and I am proud for Chris in the way that he handled his life. The change's that he continued to learn to make so that life worked for him are admirable. It appears that Chris has gown a great deal. I think that what he has to say is very inspiring to others who are open to listening, including myself. I wish him and his family well.

..."If the writing of this book helps just one couple save their relationship, it will have been time well spent." Jan 16, 2009 A quote from the book..."If the writing of this book helps just one couple save their relationship, it will have been time well spent."
Life Interrupted: It's Not All About Me, by Chris Tatevosian, is an autobiographical account of the author's life with Multiple Sclerosis; it is written from the heart. The author shares how he was diagnosed at a time in his life when he had dreams and expectations for his future, how his life was affected by MS, and his struggles to remain a healthy and active individual. That's just the beginning of the book. The second part of the book focuses on how MS affected not only him but his relationship with his wife at the time.
Mr. Tatevosian shares the mistakes he made and describes his "poor me attitude". The author does not gloss over his mistakes but is brutally honest with his emotions, thoughts and behaviors. This is a book not only for those with a chronic illness or disability but for anyone who needs to gain a better understanding of how words and actions can destroy relationships. Mr. Tatevosian makes a great impact on addressing the "poor me attitude" in a book of only 147 pages. It seems like a short read, but there is so much insight from the author that it is a must have.
Thank you, Chris Tatevosian, for sharing your life story with us.

Great Book Jan 08, 2009 This is a great book for any family with someone suffering from a chronic illness, not just MS. The care givers needs are often overlooked when an illness becomes part of the family. This book gives an honest look at what can happen when communication breaks down and needs are not met. The book provides a good blend of humor to lighten a depressing subject. Well done!
