The plot thickens Sep 28, 2008
By N. Bandler
"feverish reader"
Liffey Rivers and her arch-enemy clash again in this third in Ms Briggs' mystery series for young readers. I am not-so-young myself, but I enjoy reading about Liffey's adventures as I collect the books for future grandchildren.
The plot gets more intricate as family mysteries are intertwined with criminal ones and the action becomes international. We are left with a cliffhanger (almost literally) to ensure us that there is another Liffey Rivers book on the horizon.
I would recommend this book, and its predecessors, to lovers of mysteries, Ireland, and Irish dance.

Celtic Moon Adventure Jan 15, 2009
By Blue Yonder Lady Liffey Rivers has always managed to get herself into big trouble at Irish dance competitions. In the third Liffey Rivers book, The Secret of the Mountain of the Moon, Liffey and her father are trapped by clouds on top of a mountain they have climbed after she has danced and apparently interrupted an international smuggling ring. A mesmerizing Celtic Blood Moon rises and sets off another Liffey Rivers adventure. This adventure, however, is a bit scarier than the first two. Not overly so, but definitely edgier. I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to the next Liffey Rivers mystery.

Excellent Tween Mystery Sep 22, 2010
By Margaret E.
"Feis Bookworm"
The Secret of the Mountain of the Moon is the third book in the Liffey Rivers series and in my opinion, the best. Having read the first two Liffey books which were excellent, I must say that this third one had me biting my nails at several points. My eleven-year-old daughter, who is an Irish dancer, absolutely loves all the Liffey Rivers books and thinks each new one is the best so far. She says they are like Nancy Drew books but way better. I agree. In this book, an ancient Celtic blood moon vision inspires Liffey to return to Ireland to look for her mother who has been dead for ten years on the summit of Knocknarea Mountain. The book's ending is shocking and opens up the possibility of another mysterious family connection in South Africa.

Thrilling Mystery Aug 20, 2009

"Wild Irish Girl"
Liffey Rivers climbs a mountain (again) and opens up a new storyline. This fast paced book moves along like a freight train and ends with a collision of plots and intrigue. What next? Highly recommended for 8 to 13-year-olds. And their moms!
