Little Angels Don't Cry

Little Angels Don't Cry is the compelling story of Martha Bertrand, a little orphan who, having been rescued from the Vietnam War when she was just one year old, finds herself stranded in a Catholic orphanage in Northern France. There, she encounters the cold and ruthless Sister Marie-Catherine who systematically flogs the children with her own demons. Deserted by all, Martha becomes the unwitting participant in a human tragedy that unravels behind closed doors. Little Angels Don't Cry is a haunting and deeply-moving autobiography which will enthrall and enrich all who dare read it.

4C'est Magnifique!  Feb 15, 2006
By K. NEWSTEAD "The Wizard of Odds"
A poignant and at time heart-rending tale of a brave and stubborn little orphan girl who, for a long time, does not understand the meaning of the words "mother" and "father". Amongst the stark and often brutal life with the servants of God she manages to find dignity and humour in her goal to survive and not let her circumstances get the better of her. As this book covers only her early childhood, I look forward to the sequels to bring the story up to date.
Bravo Martha!

I found this book excellent. It is deeply moving and I cannot wait to read a sequel. I only hope she will write one.
Totally recommend this book.

5Read the book 4 times already.  Feb 18, 2006
By Wendy Norman "Wendy"
I found this book completely absorbing and could not put it down. I re-read it and found even more in the story at each reading. I felt I was in that orphanage with Martha and wanted to take us both home to love and comfort.. I cannot wait to read a sequel. Please get writing soon Martha.
