superb memoir of a life in medicine Jun 23, 2007
By Thomas Ehrlich Dr. Freeman writes with wit and insight about his extraordinary life as a pediatric neurologist specializing in epilepsy. This book is a must read for anyone interested in medicine and how progress is made in grappling with life-threatening disease. Dr. Freeman is a rare combination of wise physician and skilled researcher who writes beautifully about the human side of medicine and the patients whom he has treated.

Dr. John Freeman is a life saver! I know this firsthand! This is an honest and detailed account about his path into the world of pediatric neurology. A great book for medical students and those who are interested in learning about those of us in our world who rise to incredible lengths to help those in critical need. Dr. Freeman listens, feels deeply and searches for help in seemingly impossible situations. He is the epitome of DOCTOR!
