Lord Ferrister Keeps His Word is the third in the Lord Ferrister series and continues the story of Lord Ferrister, his wife Lady Jennifer and his friends from the circus, introduced in Book One, Lord Ferrister Finds a Circus. Now we find that the formerly neglected Ferrister Hall is a thriving visitor attraction and has even been brought into the computer age. The Great Mappo, former member of Colonel Carter's Colossal Circus has bought Lady Jennifer's old family home and has plans to use it to put something back into the circus that has always been his life. Lord Ferrister is surprised to receive a letter from an old friend whom he has not seen since childhood and his goodwill is put to the test. The three dogs, Jasper, Floss and Tessie still dominate the scene when they get the chance and the retired circus donkey gets some company.
