Great Imagination Mar 09, 2010
By A. Whipple
"Live, Learn, Love"
Sally O. Lee wrote a beautiful story that shows when one is disappointed about the turn of events, one can still have fun. Lucy had big plans to go to the circus, but she wakes up sick. Since she can't go to the circus, she finds a striped blanket to make a circus tent...and the circus fun begins! Her little animal friends help her have a good time performing various circus tricks before it's time to rest.
This book is so sweet! I love the imagination. The story is fabulous and the pictures just lovely. This book would appeal to a wide range of ages, and boys and girls. I do recommend this book!
Female Lions Don't Have Big Manes Mar 20, 2008

'Lucy and Seymour's Circus' is a fun book that outlines Lucy's imagination of a circus that she dreams up when she is sick and can't go to the circus for real. With colorful artwork and a decent story this is a solid effort by Ms. Lee. My only major qualm with the book is one part a female lion shows up with a big bushy mane which female lions don't have (lack of research). Overall a good read for kids that will enjoy it and remind themselves that with a good imagination you can go anywhere you want!!

Will entertain and engage young readers ages 3 to 7 from beginning to end Sep 13, 2006
By Midwest Book Review Lucy and her friend Seymour have plans to go to the circus, but to her dismay, Lucy wakes up not feeling very well and her mother won't let her go. What can Lucy and Seymour do instead? How about creating their very own circus!! An original and imaginative story by author and illustrator Sally Lee, "Lucy And Seymour's Circus" is a brightly colored, entertaining, thoroughly "kid friendly" anthropomorphic picturebook that will entertain and engage young readers ages 3 to 7 from beginning to end. Ms. Lee, who has written and illustrated fifteen other books for children, has once again demonstrated her unique storytelling and artistic ability. "Lucy And Seymour's Circus" would make a welcome and popular addition to family, school, and community library collections for preschoolers and young readers.
