5A must read   May 07, 2008
Jacques' story is one of both overcoming obstacles and of having the fierce passion to pursue something you love. It's a fantastic reminder of doing everything possible to tap into your potential despite challenges and setbacks. You need to nothing about soccer to be inspired by this book. A must read.

5Very inspirational. Not just about soccer.  Apr 18, 2008
I started the book thinking it was only about soccer and looked forward to reading about life as a profesional player and the insider's view of the US National team in the 80s. But I was pleasantly surprised it delved beyond the sport and what emerged is a very inspiring and real story about a boy beating the odds, overcoming struggles, and ultimately succeeding. Readers, sports and book fans alike, will enjoy many interesting vignettes about his experiences both on and off the soocer field. It is more a lesson on life and striving to achieve success. A real good read.

5Remarkable!  Oct 07, 2007
Jacques' life story is truly remarkable. His dreams, hard work, determination and love for God are very inspiring. It all starts with childhood dreams that never die. He had proven that when you have dreams, you'll achieve greater things in life. Easy reading, I couldn't put it down.

5Inspirational  Jul 12, 2007
I read this book in just a couple of days, I didn't want to put it down. Jacques shows that no matter what our background, we can take our life to new heights. From the streets of Port Au Prince to professional soccer! Any dream can come true if we keep our mind focussed!
