Mamamade

Growing up in a drowsy southern town during the 1920's is Matilda, the only child born to Colored parents. With no schooling, Matilda's mother directs her to working as a domestic, a routine option for girls such as her lacking opportunity. She is expected to keep her faith, work hard, and hold to what is good and right. But beginning at a young age Matilda experiences personal loss and subsequently personal tragedy in her own life that taint her for years to come. Eventually she is awakened to a life full of goodness and love and a future she could not have imagined for herself.
