Mangia, It's Good For You: How To Cook Like an Italian for the Holidays

My cookbook "Mangia, It's Good For You!" How to Cook Like an Italian for the Holidays, is a culmination of old school Neapolitan Italian recipes. It showcases many of the recipes my mother and my aunts taught me when I was a young girl. I would stand on a step stool so I could reach the stove while Mom gave me instructions. Some of these recipes I still make to this day. Of course I also know some Sicilian recipes since my grandfather came from Sicily, Italy. They were the recipes we cooked every day, on Sundays, Thanksgiving, Easter and during the Christmas holidays.

There is nothing better than a home cooked Italian meal. The recipes given are delicious and would make any visitor want to come back for more. I suggest you purchase the book, for I am sure it will make your holidays even extra special!

5Great Recipes and entertainment  Nov 08, 2008
By Donna Thress
A real feeling of home not only from the aromas that fill your home from the cooking, but from the stories of this family. Fun and great meals to rival the best Italian families (even my own). These recipes are better than your favorite Italian restaurant's.

5A 'must have' cookbook!  Nov 06, 2008
By Barbara C. Gallo
You need this cookbook to learn to make the BEST TASTING meatballs ever! And the best ever pizza rustica. And don't forget the manicotti...yum! The recipes are easy to follow. The stories humorous. This cookbook reminds you of the time when Sunday Italian meals made the bond between families!

5Not Just For the Holidays!  Jan 11, 2009

If you are looking for a collection of GREAT Italian recipes, end your search here. I have a cupboard full of cookbooks collecting dust because the recipes are so impractical I don't even try them, or quite frankly, the end result was not worth the effort. This cookbook is the refreshing change I've been searching for. The stories are endearing and the recipes are fantastic! I've tried more than half of the recipes in this book and haven't been disappointed once...you won't be either!

5Just Like Mom's!  Dec 09, 2008
By Theresa Martinetti "Tre"
I am so glad this cookbook was finally put into print. I've known Hedy for a long time and have tasted more of her food than I can count and have even helped her cook some. Every single recipe in here is delicious and is definitely worth trying. The food in this book reminds me of home..of my own Mom's cooking. And that is a great feeling! If you ever wanted to cook like a "true Italian" buy this book, believe me, you won't be sorry!
