5Great help in the classroom  Aug 20, 2007
As a teacher of French Literature, a major problem has been persuading my students to read Proust. There are various aspects of `In Search of Lost Time' that I want to focus on in the classroom for detailed examination and study, but it is difficult to do this if the students are not familiar with the novel as a whole. Forcing time-starved students to read all seven volumes has proved both difficult and counter-productive. This wonderfully concise but detailed guide will give the students a complete understanding of the characters and the plot of all seven volumes and will permit me to focus on those specific issues which are covered by our curriculum. `Marcel Proust's Search for Lost Time' has proved invaluable. I only wish this had been available years ago.
