I was very pleasantly surprised by "Marshal of Broken Pick." It was a page-turner from start to finish. The author, a retired journalism professor, has a sure grasp of life in the Old West. He describes the comic adventures of a would-be stage coach robber who finds himself appointed chief lawman of a little town in New Mexico. His hero conquers the bad guys with skill, bravery and the help of a bevy of eager and attractive ladies.
