Math Riddles in Silly Rhyme 1

Join a fanciful cast of animals and children as they introduce the concepts of addition, subtraction, inequalities, problem solving, and more. (Math for ages 2+ Reading Level K-2) Each of the silly math riddles covers a two page spread, allowing children to lose themselves in the marvelous artwork. The illustrations are designed to build math confidence at all stages of development. The younger child can simply count items in the picture to find answers, while the older reader can practice figuring them out. The poetry is catchy, whimsical and simple enough for children to understand. Designed to be an early reader, children will enjoy reading it over and over again! Answers, explanations, and suggestions for enrichment activities can be found at the end of the book. This section is great for parents but can also double as a teacher's guide. And if your children love to look for hidden pictures, keep your eyes open for some clever little mice...

5Learning Fun  Jun 11, 2008
This book is entertaining and educational with both great rhymes and illustrations. Best of all, the grown-ups will like reading it nearly as much as the kids do. The inevitable "Again?!" request will be easy to answer with an "OK!" Kids who are old enough to count will be able to solve the riddles from the pictures, but kids who are learning addition and subtraction more formally will also get a fun introduction to word problems.
