Mcbee House A Narrative Tour

A narrative tour with color photographs of the historic McBee House c. 1820 at Ashley Hall located in Charleston, SC. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building is an outstanding example of Regency architecture which was introduced from England in the early 19th century. There is substantial circumstantial evidence that the architect was William Jay. Among its distinguished owners was George Alfred Trenholm the last Secretary of the Treasury of the Confederate States of America. McBee House is the Administration Building for Ashley Hall, a distinguished college preparatory school for girls founded in 1909 by Mary Vardrine McBee.
