Anecdotal summary of experience with inmates Jan 12, 1999
This small book is written in very simple English depicting brief episodes the teacher experienced while working with prisoners. The title is misleading: adventures they were not. For readers who have never dealt with inmates, the book might be entertaining, but for people with experience in correctional education it offers no new or interesting perspective on being a prison teacher. Rios does try to show how difficult learning can be in a caged environment.
