5More Than Meets The Eye  Aug 20, 2008
By Carl David "Arlyn David"
This is simply an amazing book which is informative, easily understood and absolutely real. It dispels the fear of death and soothingly shows that our souls never die; they just continue to evolve. Communications from loved ones who have passed on are beautifully illustrated and give comfort in knowing that they are but a thought away. The stories within are compelling and no nonsense. I couldn't put this book down and although I am no stranger to these beliefs and knowings, it was refreshing to be able to regain the assurance that is provided in the pages within. If you have questions, they will be answered. If you have doubts, keep an open mind and take faithfully the messages given in this marvelous compendium of channeled wisdom. If you already know, then the words will remind you that we are not alone. Whatever you do, don't let this book get away. It is not selling or preaching, just giving truths. You don't want to be left out.

5enlightening  Jun 03, 2006
By Dale Morrison "voracious reader"
The book was serendipity. At age 55, I realized that I was on

the downhill slide, and white knuckling it, on the way down.

My fear of death led me in search of reassurance, answers,

and peace. This book gave it to me. The stories were told by

every day people and by the author as well. I felt a great

sense of relief and peace upon finishing the book.

2Shallow but passably interesting.  Oct 07, 2010
By Kelvin Wright
This book is a collection of personal encounters and recollections of death from the author's own experience and from various interviews and other sources. It has a folksy tone which should be accessible to most people. It covers a range of topics, such as life after death, euthanasia reincarnation etc., none of which are dealt with at any depth. I found it a little facile in it's analysis and the style was marred by numerous lapses in grammar. It contains some interesting case studies, several of which are open to a variety of interpretations, although the author seems to accept unquestioningly the one which suits her particular purpose. There is no coherent view of life and death presented but rather a pastiche of various half developed "new age" type theories. It's not a book I would give to anyone facing death and it certainly added nothing new to my own thinking on life, the universe and everything, but some of the studies were mildly interesting in places

5For All Who Wonder What's On the Other Side  Feb 22, 2009
By Linda Davenport
Who hasn't wondered about what's on the other side of this life? Even with explanations offered by faith and religion, most of us continue to harbor doubts and fears for ourselves and those we love. In this gentle book, author Yvonne Perry offers comfort and insight about what happens when we die and what waits on the other side.

Though well documented and researched, Yvonne's work is not a detached, scholarly report. She writes with passion and love, sharing her personal stories of near death experience and those of countless others. Through the intimate stories of those who have crossed over and returned, as well as stories from people who have had contact with those who have died, we are given an understanding of "...eternal souls with ongoing missions; that time exists only on earth; and that everything is happening simultaneously." Commenting on her personal journey, Yvonne adds, "It dawned on me that being in human form is only one way we progress spiritually on our path back to our Creator." She shares her own journey to understanding and offers comforting reassurance that our loved ones can and often do communicate with us. She says:

"Our loved ones who have crossed over communicate with us in a variety of ways. They may bring a familiar smell, or leave coins, feathers or other objects in our path. They may appear as a bird, an animal or take human form. They may come to us in our dreams, or may be the voice we hear in our head. No matter how you sense their presence you can be assured that YOU'RE NOT CRAZY! They really are near and they want to communicate."

Yvonne Perry is especially sensitive to those whose religious beliefs do not adequately answer all their questions, or whose experiences don't match what they've been taught. No matter what your current beliefs, everyone can benefit from this wonderful book of insight, comfort, and loving reassurance.Yvonne Perry's own words say it best:

"The point of this book is not to persuade you that one way is correct or incorrect, or to create a new doctrine, but rather to offer information and insight that may asist you in creating your own beliefs about this mysterious process of transitioning back to God/Source. Many people refuse to consider any explanation that doesn't match the viewpoints they already own. If you are convinced ahead of time (like I was years ago) that something is or isn't true, you will be tempted to find data that substantiates your belief. Therefore, I encourage you to keep an open mind and consider the ideas presented in this book as if you were in your car, curiously trying out a new road to see where it might lead. You may find that it brings you to a new or better understanding of death and afterlife. You may discover a road less traveled, and realize it was running parallel to your familiar route all along. Perhaps you, too, will see more than meets the eye."

Perry closes her book with these comforting words:

"Do not be afraid! If death is upon you, rebirth is on the way. There's always a springtime to follow. We are just passing through this veil. There's always more than meets the eye!"

5Never Be Afraid Again....  Jan 12, 2010
By Harriette Knight
The day after I finished reading this book, a friend of mine let me know that his dad had passed away while in hospice for less than a week. I found it comforting to find out that the situation had been a positive for the family, but the way I found out was not from my friend's report, but from Yvonne Perry's book "More Than Meets the Eye."

I'm not new to this subject. As a healing practitioner and psychic-medium, I find the study of death, dying, the afterlife, and reincarnation among my most favorite things to discuss, and I read voraciously about it. Yvonne's book is a wonderful addition to my library with vast knowledge about a range of topics including religious viewpoints, personal accounts, and extremely helpful tips for anyone who is dealing with a dying relative, hospice care, suicide, and euthenasia. These are not necessarily topics we want to deal with head-on, but I found the ones I shyed away from most were the ones I got the most out of.

You can tell that Yvonne Perry has a terrific zest for life and sense of humor. I felt lighter just reading the book as if a healing was taking place. Her research is apparent as she weaves the information together with first hand stories from others who have had experiences, and referencing other authors and experts. The addition of Yvonne's personal opinion rounds out the book with one of honesty, truth, and comfort.

I enjoyed reading this book and especially the first-hand stories. The book completely validates my personal belief system that we are souls living a human experience, and just passing through to learn what we most need to know. I thank Yvonne for this book and her knowledge on the subject. I will also highly recommend this book since I know it can help many people during a difficult and transitional time. Quite honestly, one should never be afraid of death again.
