5One of the best books I've read  Dec 05, 2007
By ML "Grad Student at Manhattan College"
I found this book to be excellent. It covered all the issues pretaining to counselors in an easy to read format. The information was to the point and it was exactly what a grad student such as myself, needs to know. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

5Excellent tool for any grad student/new counselor  Oct 03, 2007
By New Counselor
As a recent School Counselor graduate, I found "Motivating Kids to the Max" to be an invaluable tool. Grad school taught mainly theory and expected the internships to teach you dealing with the practical situations. This book was a practical and inspiring read, that helped
prepare for specific situations that guidance counselors experience. It also included plenty of suggestions and ideas for different dilemmas that may come up as a guidance counselor, such as dealing with parents, not having time to meet with student, etc. Certainly, this is a must for grad students and new counselors.
