4Fascinating crime drama!  Aug 21, 2010
By A. A. Cantu
Mark Hoffman is perhaps the greatest forgers of the past two centuries. The book is well written, entertaining, lucid, and factual. Its main writer, forensic scientist and document examiner George Throckmorton, is perhaps the only authorized person who can write about the forensic analysis of the Hoffman forgeries because he did them!

I could not put down the book once I started. It is excellent and must reading for anyone interested in how forensic document analysis uncovers forgeries, in fact, one of the most noted ones!

5Great read!  Aug 01, 2008

A very well written book interjected with humor and lots of interesting facts about aging and dating historical letters and forgery. I loved it!

3Lets do a bit of "Bottom Line" here: hinkley saw that he was Caught in a LIE...  Jan 28, 2009
By Anders Tronsen
'PR' Hinkley purposely obfuscated < IF NOT A DIRECT LIE > when interviewed by police, then directed his staff to do Anything to avoid being called as a witness in the Hofmann case; this had a 95% chance of being revealed if there was a trial.
I believe church involvment also involved urging a plea deal with Hofmann & prosecutors.
Perhaps this would have had a different outcome if it had been investigated/prosecuted at the Federal level ( A BOMBING, fgs!)

LDS, Inc.(The Corporation) couldn't /wouldn't survive if it didn't have Secrecy that it depends on the keep members & public in the DARK. An Ensign (church publication) online edition had a photo showing Hinckley & Hofmann together; that has been redacted - Edited out-PURGED.
