Moving Mountains and Molehills: Local Politics 101 Nov 17, 2005
By B. Kleven Mr. Arnold does an excellent job of explaining the realities, the human interplay and processes affecting local governmental issues. I would recommend this book to anyone serving on an local board or committee. It is equally valauble to any member of the public attempting to exert any influence on local issues.
This is a quality manuscript that both informs and entertains. If you want to improve your community through the political process you should read this book. Good read regarding human nature as well.

A Must for All Libraries Aug 29, 2006
By T. Hurlburt Our library purchased this title last year and it has become extremely popular with those in our area who are actively involved, or wanting to become involved, in the local political process.
Whether one is interested in the workings of their school boards, city councils, county boards, zoning committees, etc., this is a must-read, how-to-manual for anyone that wants to make a difference in any of their local political arenas.

Too little for too much Jul 21, 2006
By Robert E. Litke If the author developed the outline that this publication tends to be, he might have a worthwhile book. Needs to include additional experiences and opinions by other people, more on laws, ordinances, referendums, their good and bad effects, how to pass and how to defeat them, etc.

Required Reading for local activists Nov 07, 2005
By Networking Maven and Political Hack
"fairwind"
Mr. Arnold addresses the local political process clearly and concisely, using just the right mix of information and anecdote. Most importantly, he reminds the reader that most political objectives are best achieved when emotion is removed from the process. Should be required reading for all would-be political activists.
Move That Mountain Nov 23, 2005
By Dave Kessinger Anyone with an interest in local politics will find this book useful when navigating through the various processes. This is the type of book that the casual political "activist" needs to understand the process to get the job done. The various anecdotal scenarious helps one see what the process's entail and the helpful tips enable one to steer clear of the pitfalls that can derail ones goals. This is a very entertaining book that readers can get through in a short time. Its cleverly written, highly entertaining and a fun read. Some political how to books can be overwhelming at times, but this one is clear, concise and tells you how to get it done.
This would be a nice book for a class in dealing with local politics.
