A Poignant Journey Jul 21, 2009

This book is an amazing journal of Joy Brown's battle with Cancer.
It is a must read for anyone personally facing cancer or anyone who knows someone who has been diagnosed. It is a candid and honest look at dealing with all aspects of the disease - from the diagnosis to the treatment to beating it. It runs the emotional gamut from sorrow to joy.
A big thank you to Joy for writing this amazing book and for sharing her journey.

By G R Simply written first-hand story about breast cancer that doesn't pull any punches. I found it to be extremely informative, and enjoyed it very much.
If you haven't been there, you probably know someone who has... Aug 28, 2011
By Susan Melancon Written with such honesty and openness. I felt like I was sitting across from a very dear friend who was sharing her journey with me. What courage it must have taken to reach out to others this way. Wish I had read this 3 yrs. ago when a close family member was going thru this. I had no idea the reconstruction period was as painful and traumatic as the surgery to remove the tumor. A must read.

I read My Face To The World and was amazed how Joy was able to pull me in. Once you pick up this book, you will want to not put it down. The book itself, is an easy read. Joy is very honest and shares her "real" experiences as she battled breast cancer. From the day she was told she had cancer, to the day she was cancer free. Joy is an inspiration to everyone- most of us know someone who is battling the "monster" known as cancer. The road is not easy, and Joy does show that through her writing. The road battling breast cancer is ugly, tiring, frustrating, and yet encouraging! Joy shares how her husband and kids initially dealt with this blow, and also shares the many good things that came out of her treatment and road to being cancer free. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for some inspiration- as this would be a great gift for someone, especially is they are dealing with cancer and looking for encouragement! Joy's book, My Face To The World would be a great book to share!
