My First Relativistic Class

Starting from pre-relativistic physics problems, and after a brief review of basic Special Theory of Relativity, this book introduces the reader to tensor mathematics and the formalism of General Relativity. After obtaining the Einstein equation for gravitation the book shows, from two different approaches the Schwarzschild solution (obtained by Karl Schwarzschild) just after the publication of the theory. Using this solution the classical tests are discussed. Black holes are studied based on Schwarzschild's solution as also from Kerr's and Reissner-Nordström's ones. At the end of the book the thermodynamic of a black hole is analyzed, using Hawking's process. This book is a very good tool for those interested in understanding the basics of General Relativity and black holes.
