Must have journal for young fans of fishing Oct 05, 2009
By Christina Lockstein
"Christy's Book Blog"
My Fishing Journal by Louis Gary Lamit is a must have for any young fan of fishing. Mia says: I really liked working on the first pages. I can't wait to do more pages, and I like thinking about what I can catch and draw next. I'm going to use this book forever until it runs out and work on it for twenty-hundred years until I'm an old lady. This book is absolutely perfect for Mia who loves going fishing and is very good at it. There are lots of pages for kids to record their best catches along with details like: location, who I fished with, weather conditions, bait, size, etc. There's also room for them to add a picture (drawn or photo) and record their thoughts about the catch in their own words. At the bottom of each page is a picture and details about a different fish, adding an educational element. The author has additional pages for free download on his website. Mia enjoys looking through it to remember her best catches and think about what she wants to fish for next.
Perfect for the avid fisherman! Oct 06, 2009
By Lisa Barker This is really great--the perfect gift for the young (and older) avid fishermen. Record all the details and memories of your day. Save them to share with the next generation.
I Like This Idea Sep 06, 2009

"crazy about books"
If you're like me, you go fishing, but later can't remember the details about all those fish you've caught, the bait you've used, the time of day, or the weather conditions. This fishing journal is the perfect answer to that dilemma. First, the cover is very colorful and well designed, with a photo of a large variety of fish that you will probably recognize. Inside, you will also find pictures of various fish, information on the right fishing equiptment and bait to use; a personal journal with windows where you can either sketch, or place a photo of your fish and fishing trip; and pages to enter pertinent information about each of your fishing expeditions. I like the look and format of this unique journal. It is a book the entire family can enjoy together.
Your kids will love this fishing journal Apr 16, 2009
By AmericanFishingJournals.com I handed this fishing journal to my young son as we were reading bedtime stories and watched as he proceeded to thumb through all the pages, front to back, with great interest. Along the way, he found many great colorful pictures that begged for questions that only a four year old would think to ask. Needless to say, the My Fishing Journal from Walking Fish Books was a big hit with him.
As fishing journals go, this is one of the more thoughtfully laid out one that we have used. The journal pages had space to capture all the important details of your memories spent on the water. There is even a sample page filled in so you can see what it is supposed to look like when done. Both the children's version, My Fishing Journal, and the adult version have the same content and layouts, but the children's version is in colors to make it a little more interesting for the little ones.
We recommend these journals to fishermen of all ages. Our only suggestion would be for Walking Fish Books to put out a waterproof version. Living in the soggy Pacific Northwest, many of our best salmon and steelhead runs occur during late fall through early spring - just when the gods of the Northwest release their fury in the form of buckets of rain. We would hate to ruin these journals while trying to capture our streamside memories.
Nice journal for keeping track of your fishing trips Jan 17, 2009
By G. Powell I have most of my fishing trips recorded on my GPS as waypoints, and along with this journal I'll have a good record of where I caught what, and what the weather was like instead of just those fishing stories. Besides it's not the size of the fish right? It's knowing where the fishing hole is, and whether bright lures worked on cloudy days or not. (Sometimes it seems to matter to the fish.) This is a nice way to keep track of all that information.
