My Kind of Normal

Dani Edelman seemingly has it all: good friends, a job at a high-profile Manhattan law firm, and a relationship with the man she knows she was meant to marry – until he drops a bomb that sends her reeling. In its aftermath, Dani finds herself questioning everything: her career, lackluster love life, and her endless search for “normalcy.” But after being down in the dumps for way too long, she realizes that normal is highly overrated. So begins Dani’s search for a life on her terms, which includes shopping (lots of it), dating (more of it), and therapy (take a wild guess). Along the way, she learns a little about love, a lot about friendships, and what it means to face your demons about everything-in-between. Readers of chick lit will identify with Dani’s take-no-prisoners, tell it like it is narration, and will root for her often comical, always authentic journey to her brand of normalcy.

By Eugene Spitzer "Enamoured Fan"
For a first book, Jenifer Barend has insightfully touched upon something that most of us have gone, are going, or will be going through. At the time, we think we are the only ones living this life. We can relate to her dead-end relationships and friends that seem to have what we are looking for. I get the feeling that there is a lot of Jenifer Barend in her character "Dani Edelman" and for this I admire her honesty and courage, as she beautifully exposes her inner self to the world.

I reccomend this book to those who will be going, are going, or have gone through these life's experiences.

Well done Ms. Barend

Looking forward to your next book- Gene Spitzer
