Powerful Book May 14, 2009
By Kurt B. Popke My Utmost for Mediocrity is a powerful book, blending humor and piercing insight into the behavior patterns Christians often slip into which limit their relationship with the Lord. We all like to think that backsliding is just something that happens to us, that we are not deliberately making poor choices in our Christian life. By presenting these shortcomings as intentionally planned strategies, this book highlights for the reader that we actively decide to be less than our full potential. And facing this fact is a major step in correcting the behavior(s) that keep us from building a strong and healthy Christian life.
My Utmost for Mediocrity is funny and I found myself laughing at many of the `testimonials,' but at the same time it was a bit disconcerting, often taking me out of my comfort zone and forcing some sobering self-examination.
And that's a very good thing.

What's Inside? Mar 21, 2009
By Fred Popke My Utmost for Mediocrity is a humorous, tongue-in-cheek devotional that seeks to motivate individuals to pursue the higher spiritual things in life by depicting what life might be like if one merely settled for a mediocre lifestyle.
