Doing Well By Doing Right Feb 28, 2009
By John Greathouse This is a great book, which I have highly recommended to my entrepreneurial graduate and undergraduate students. Barrie's anecdotes, describing how respectful and honest behavior has served him well, are an effective counterbalance to the non-stop, negative stereotypes of "evil businessmen and women" put forth by the media and Hollywood.
There are a number of great lessons in this book, all of which are described in a breezy, easy to digest style.
Not only is this a great book for entrepreneurial students, it is a worthwhile read for anyone who desires to become a leader, whether in business, or any other field.

A fine and highly recommended read May 08, 2009
By Midwest Book Review The image of businessmen who doesn't understand the meaning of ethics is commonly what people think of when they think of millionaire success. "Nice Guys Finish First: How to Succeed in Business and Life" is author Barrie Bergman's call for ethics and courtesy, claiming such virtues do have their place in the modern world of business, and do not doom their champions to failure. Packed with advice to the would-be nice guy business man, "Nice Guys Finish First" is a fine and highly recommended read.

A must-read for entrepreneurs + business managers! Jul 12, 2011
By Kayse Gehret "Nice Guys Finish First" is an entertaining, enlightening must-read for aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders. With humor, straight-talk and humility, the author describes the ups, the downs and just how much human nature informs the path of a growing enterprise. Unlike so many other business books - often penned by management consultants who have never actually built a business from scratch - Mr. Bergman's book shares valuable insights based on the pure experience of an entrepreneur. "Nice Guys Finish First" is a fantastic reminder that - while valuable - management systems and theory can never replace what truly makes a great business a long-lasting success... it all boils down to its people and ethical leadership.
