Love this book Apr 18, 2011
By KIM This book was so delightful and as a Shiba owner, totally relatable. It was like reading the biography and antics of my Ashley. My whole family got a kick out of it. I wish I would have had this book when we first got Ashley as a birthday present for my then six year old daughter. I know it would have been her favorite book and we would have read it every night. Looking forward to reading it to my future grandchildren about their mother's first puppy.

A must for Shiba lovers of all ages Dec 24, 2009
By desert hounsi If you have are owned by a Shiba, then you need this book. It is so delightful!
I got it as a birthday present from a friend, and I knew I wanted it because, well, what Shiba lover wouldn't? I expected the shibalicious illustrations, but had no idea what the rest of the book was like. It was just wonderful! It is so clearly written by a Shiba person, and so many of the details get the breed just right. I laughed and laughed.
Nicholas is indeed ridiculous, utterly charming, and utterly Shiba.
This is a perfect gift for the Shiba lover!

A delightful book about a delightful dog Aug 27, 2009
By Paul Carleton Warning: this review is biased. My friend Sharon breeds and shows shibas; in the past decade she's had over a couple dozen puppies and adults. Her grandson Nicholas will be five soon. His mother (Sharon's daughter) has often lovingly told him, "Nicholas, you are rediculous!" So we were delighted when we discovered this new book and ordered a couple to give Nicholas one along with his other birthday presents. (I'll edit this review after he's seen it to give you his reaction. September 30: As predicted, he loved it at first sight and wants it read to him over-and-over by his parents or older brother.)
The booklet's drawings accurately portray a shiba puppy and the accompanying comments are charming and appropriate. Nicholas will probably want it read to him many times altho I don't know how well the paperback will hold up.
We of course agree that shibas are wonderful dogs but they're not all the same; like people, they each have their own personality. Most are outgoing but a few are shy which can be overcome if they're socialize and trained early on as they mature. If you'd like to learn more about shibas, we suggest Shiba Inus (Complete Pet Owner's Manual) or Shiba Inu (Kennel Club Dog Breed Series).
Cutest Ever Dec 09, 2009
By B. Monkman This is the cutest picture book I have seen in a long long time. It is so a Shiba Inu, in all of his actions. They are truly a remarkable dog. The illustrations are phenomenal and it is just a great great story. Kudos to the author
LOVED IT Dec 07, 2009
By S. Smith Not only did I (a shiba owner) love the book, but I bought one for my 2 year old nephew that enjoys reading it and the story of the "diculous" dog.
