No More Fears for Maddox

“There he was, all alone. The dark was all around him. Trapped in the garage, unable to see a thing, he felt terrified…” This is the story of Maddox, who suffers an unexpected frightening experience. Guided by the teachings of an aunt and the help of his cat, Maddox rapidly overcomes his fear of the dark. He makes the best of the frightening situation and relies on his inner strength to make use of lessons learned from loved ones. The story is geared to children between the ages of 4 and 8. Fears are common at this age in children’s lives. Maddox’s experience however, is unexpected and intense. If the experience was left unattended, it could have transformed into a long lasting fear of the dark. Dr. Maria Becker tells a story while guiding children to overcome distressing emotions in an easy and natural way. She makes use of her own model of intervention, “Acceptance, Awareness, and Transformation,” a model based on the emerging field of energy psychology.
