A charming book with an empowering message May 10, 2010
By Anne Cameron Sadava Maria Becker's "No More Fears for Maddox" is a charming book with visual appeal and an empowering message for young children. It describes a child, in the company of his cat, using his inner resources to overcome his fear of the dark. Within the context of an engaging story it demonstrates the kind of thinking and imagery that children can use to manage their own fears and anxieties. Bonnie Lemaire's illustrations will draw children in and they will easily identify with this little boy and benefit from his positive example. Anne Cameron-Sadava, Occupational Therapist.

"No More Fears for Maddox" is sensitively written and beautifully illustrated. Maria Becker's first book for children has a welcome place in any child's, parent's or teacher's library.
In this story, Maddox, along with his beloved cat, finds the inner courage to deal with a common but devastating childhood fear. Both adults and children will benefit sharing the ideas put forth in this engaging little book.
