A NonStop thumbs up for sure!! Mar 09, 2007 This is a stellar, handy-dandy guide and reference for HP NonStop System Managers to Customer Engineers to Operations Support Staff. It's even small enough to carry with one's tool kit or keep with their laptop, etc. HP NonStop (aka Tandem Computers of yesteryear) books have been far overdue to finally make it to the public bookshelves...when, in reality, these little-known HP NonStop systems support the ATM's of major banks, backbone for the NYSE and NASDAQ --- as well as handling billions of transactions per day by various other companies all over the world!
Thanks to Mr. Inamullah K Abdulmatin, this guide is well worth the money Mar 05, 2007 My company purchased 2 of the NonStop Kernel System Admin Guides. It is the most practical guide that covers a wide range of the NonStop configurations such as; Hardware, Utilities, Editor, System Admin Functions, Spoolcom, Networking and Security...
The guide has been helpful from the moment I received my copy, although I have not worked on any of the S-series server it imediately shared information on the various S-series server's hardware enclosure configurations. This guide can be used as a tool for training any new system admin while at the same time it is a very beneficial tool for any experienced system admin, because it is a well rounded comprehensive guide on the NonStop server. It reads simply enough for the beginner and a one stop shop for the experienced admin or operator.
Thanks again Mr. Abdulmatin for a much needed tool for the NonStop world.
