5Recommend for all new parents!!  Mar 16, 2010
By Colleen C.
As new parents, my husband and I heavily relied upon this book. It was the most helpful resource in that first nerve racking month. Each time a new question would come up - is it normal that our baby has the hiccups this often? how do we give the baby a sponge bath? what temperature should her room be to reduce the risk of SIDS?- we would pick up this book and the answer would be right there. It is written simply and directly and provides you with all the answers you need. We found it incredibly reassuring. It stopped us from calling our pediatrician on a daily basis and made us feel more comfortable so we could enjoy the precious time with our newborn instead of worrying constantly. I also found it much easier to keep this book close by as opposed to some of the more well known books that are 300-400 pages and don't offer as clear direction on many concerns we had. We recommend this book to all new parents.

As a pediatrician, I found this book to be a great resource for a new parent, or a parent that had questions the first time around. Scientifically based, but simple enough for anyone to read, I'd definately recommend this book, and will be buying it for relatives.
