This is really, some AWESOME stuff. Jul 26, 2008
By Dale A. Moon I just bought the book 'Now What Do I Say' off Amazon. This is really, some AWESOME stuff. After reading the first three chapters, my mind was thinking and working in a completely different way. Even as far as using these objection handlers to take over my marketplace. I have now since finished reading the book and must highly recommend it to anyone not working the SLC, Utah area... Thanks Scott, Christy & Donna:

Not the kind of RE agent I would work with or want to be. Dec 01, 2009

In a word, dreadful.
First, the authors needed to have a proof reader. Numerous gramatical errors, mis-used words, etc.
Second, the suggested responses found here make you sound like a high pressure used car salesman. Use enough of these responses and you will come off with only your interests in mind, not your those of your client. The author's have a firm grasp of the ABC method of sales. (Always Be Closing). Unfortunately that approach is not good if it is applied to every other word out of your mouth. Their formula for responses to objections is simply this; Respond to the question, then ask for the close. Answer the question and close, ad infinitum. EVERY suggested response follows this formula. Tiresome to read, even more tiresome to hear if you are the client.
Other issues include:
Many of the responses are just re-wording of the first response. Not different approaches or thoughts about the situation, just a juggling of words to fill out a very thin book.
The scenerios for the objections are entirely dealing with down market situations. Applies to the current market in a lot of cases, but what about the coming up market?
The last bit I found lacking in this book was there was no "why" you are saying what you are saying. Admittedly, most of these situations and responses are brain dead gimmes. A bit of common sense would get you through the situation and responding correctly and no explaination is needed. Handling objections is important, and knowing what is actually going on in the client's mind, what is the real issue behind the objestion, is critical to being able to handle the objection successfully. You will find no such enlightenment here. It is a pity. There is a real need in the marketplace for such a book. This one, is not it.

By Deborah A. Tola Good book for a number of common and uncommon objections. If you can memorize them they will be very helpful.
