Live and work in Harmony with your horse! Dec 09, 2006
By Karen Nowak I have known Ann Bradley via cyberspace for a number of years.
Ann has a unique ability to see problems through the horse's eyes and offers a common sense approach to work through them. Ann has many years of experience with just about every breed of horse. She specializes in helping fearful horses and riders who have for some reason lost their confidence. She has an uncanny ability to figure out the physical, mental and emotional problems behind these issues that plague so many horse owners and riders today.
This teacher/trainer turned writer has so much to offer the world of horses and their owners/riders. I hope this is the first of many books to come. Ann has made a wonderful contribution to printed reference material on living in harmony with horses.
Bravo, Ann!

...Of course, of course... Aug 13, 2007
By Thossy This book is written primarily for people who own and/or train horses. I am not in either category. For that matter, I'm not all that interested in horses, but I picked up this compact, well-written book, read it cover-to-cover in a couple of hours, and believe that I learned much about how horses approach the world and how people can better relate to them as riders and owners.
Ms. Bradley obviously has vast experience as a trainer and instructor, and all the while, she has been thinking deeply about how horses view the world, how they react to situations, and how to optimize the relationship between horse and human. But she hasn't confined her thinking to the equine part of the equation: there are many astute observations about human behavior in this little book as well.
In an era when punishment-and-reward remains a basic method of working with domesticated animals, this author's approach is well-considered, interesting and refreshing. The predator-prey dynamic is complex and operates at many levels, which are systematically discussed, chapter-by-chapter, including numerous real-world examples of the concepts.
Please go ahead and read the book even if you're not a "horse person." Your time will be well-spent.

By Dessageluvr I would recommend this book to horse lovers of all riding disciplines. It helps you think from your horse's perspective, and gives examples of how you can improve your communication with your horse, thereby improve your riding experience.
Best horse book ever! Mar 06, 2009
By Nancy Horne Ann presents in great depth- an unparalleled understanding of the nature of the horse - their emotions, how they feel, think, respond and act. By understanding their behavior and what they are saying/feeling by what they 'do', we can easily make changes that benefit horse's comfort level. This results in a healthier, relaxed and truly collected safe horse along with a much happier handler/rider. She states real life examples of tough situations and presents scenarios of how the human responds and how that affects the horse. By reading the book the reader will be able to see and make changes that redefine their relationship with their horse, as well as make better life choices. My life has been transformed by Ann and her words of wisdom. My relationships, as well as my riding skills have benefited beyond measure. She knows how things work.
Ann's amazing insight came about from her life long work with horses, and her focus to help everyone then create the best relationship possible between horse and human whether they compete at the highest level or simply pleasure ride. Every person should read this book- it will be on the best seller list soon!
