Good Clean Fun Feb 05, 2006
By Booksie Galore This book is a collection of stories about living in the Ozarks and getting older, two things very near and dear to my heart. It's funny, sad, and oh so real. If you're over 50 you'll identify with the author's amazement at the changes age brings and you'll enjoy the humorous way he describes it. The story "I Was Never Going to Do That!" is the perfect Ah-ha story. When he says "I was never going to sit on the edge of my bed for a minute or two before getting up, run around searching for something I had in my hand, or get narrow-minded about music", I think most of us "older people" can say by golly, here's a man who understands. Gary can certainly spin a yarn and you'll end up wishing he and "Wifey" were your next door neighbors so you could continue to view life through his marvelous cracked lens after the book ends.
