A new experience for me Jan 03, 2011

I purchased this book because I knew "Old Ironsides" as my pastor when I was a child. I knew the author, & I knew many of the people & places mentioned in the book. I cannot say that of any other book I've ever read, so it was a new experience to read about people who were central to my childhood. I gave the book to my father, who knew even more of the names & places than I. But I would not recommend this to someone who didn't know them, or of them. It is adequately written, but strays often from its subject, & at times is just plain tedious. Pastor Moore was a warm, funny man with a passion for Jesus & a great love for people, & I'm glad his son (the author) chose to honor his memory with a book.
