On the Shoulders of Giants, A Daily Guide May 10, 2009
By G.D. Falcon On the Shoulders of Giants -- A Daily Guide is a wonderful book that is well written and well laid out. It has given me a deeper insight to the day-to-day events happening in my life. In many ways it has changed my life, and I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in new spirituality or astrology or Sabian symbology. For that matter, I recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the effects of the universe on their day-to-day living.

My business partner has informed me of Judy's review. It is one which is a prototype for many such voices--that of the strictly-adhering astrologer... I know that Judy was obligated to speak her peace at last. She and I have become friends. We agree to disagree. We've compared our charts, especially through the Sabian symbols themselves, and have found this to have been a destined meeting of souls--one which clearly demands that we know ourselves more purely.
Ron feared her review would hurt me. It doesn't hurt. I told Ron that I tried to tell him that this book would be rabble-rousing. Each step of the way I tried to let him know the import and impact of what was coming through. Every truly inspired message is such. It only allows me to stand more firmly on this holy ground: "I have not written but that which I have seen and heard." Acts 4:20
The work stands. It has a message. That message is that of the Divine Feminine. She has returned, period. She does not ask permission. She need not explain herself. She will confirm her presence--to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
I think of Kepler and the orbit of Mars. How frustrated was Brahe with this portion of his data! Mars would not behave. Kepler soon was able to show how Mars explains that we do not travel in a circle around the sun. Orbits are elliptical! And we--Earthlings--do not measure our path around the sun in 360 units--we use a system of 365 days, i.e. our calendar. Do we for one moment suppose that the Heavens cannot provide a system of divination which correlates to our own calendar?
Yes, this work is monumental and rabble-rousing. It suggests, as did Mar's to Brahe--through an open-mindedness like unto Kepler's--that the Heavens have something new to tell us. Only this time it comes not from man but from woman. The time has come again for a reformulation--a time to synchronize that which is below with that which is above. It is time to think outside of the circle. It is time to add star-light to that which we already know. We have had 360 degrees utilized in Astrology for centuries. But these are new times. We have 365 phases now. The Pythagorean Pentacle--its five points--have returned. The mission of the Divine Feminine is in and amongst us. On the Shoulders of Giants incorporates these additional five units. Each has its own lesson for us, respectively: Comfort, Nurture, Healing, Guidance, Encouragement. They are directly linked to five of the Sabian symbols. They are placed at January 23, April 6, June 18, August 30 and November 11.
I was not at liberty to arbitrarily create five new symbols. I am not Elsie Wheeler nor am I an astrologer. But I am clairvoyant and I am not afraid to speak that which I have heard and seen. The work stands. I am led to believe that these five days, these five lessons, these five goddesses would that each determine their own symbol for those days. Yet the Sabian symbols which are now on those five phases may lead each into his or her own understanding. I do admit that I could have indicated these days more clearly in the book. I did not because I know much about these goddess days, and those born on them are both blessed and challenged! It serves no purpose to know of being born on a goddess day without having knowledge of both sides of this coin. My next book will address that.
Have other Sabian Symbol books nearby Jun 10, 2009
By J. R. As a scholar of Sabian Symbols, I suggest that you have the classic books of their degrees by Rudhyar and Jones nearby, or many other authors who have written interpretations of each degree of the zodiac, because this new book does not follow the Sabians in exact order. Every 73 pages, there is an out of order degree inserted in what the author uses to describe the Cross and the Star aspects in Section Two. The first out of order Sabian is the 2 Pisces image of the squirrel on p. 23 which is inserted after 3 Aquarius on the previous page. The 4 Aquarius Sabian follows on page 24. The other out of order Sabians are done in the same way on pages 96, 169, 242, and 315. Once you identify these pages and make a note in your book at the top, then you can follow the order which Elsie Wheeler gave to Marc Edmond Jones almost one hundred years ago and used so accurately to interpret degrees in astrological birth charts. If you are going by the calendar dates at the top of the page for your birthday, be aware of this jumping over a date for a different Sabian than the one associated with that Sun degree of your birth. I suggest reading the day before your birthday and the one afterwards, along with your day of birth, to see which one applies to you the most closely. If these cautions are followed, then this could be a valuable book for you. The author has written a thougtful new way of seeing Sabians.
