5There is more than one victim.  Sep 06, 2011
By A.Baldwin
This book was griping and simple. It opened up the mind of the reader to understand that the nature of rape is not a one-victim crime, but a familial crime whether the family or friends know about it or not. The nature of a rape victim changes so rapidly that without communication and proper therapeutic care this could have been a life lost. This book lets us know that the grieving process can be felt by all who care for the rape victim and that all can heal within the bonds of the family.

5Inspiring book  Sep 02, 2006
By Burnsie
I find this book inspirational because of its unflinching look at the repercussions of a rape on its victim and her loved ones, and especially because of the message of hope that life can become wonderful again.

5Honest and moving account of rape survival  Sep 01, 2006
By Elaine Williams "librarylainie"
In alternating chapters with her mother, her best friend, and one of her sisters, Ms. Roberts recounts the horrible event that changed her life forever, and her struggle to give it meaning. This book moved me to tears, especially the mother's chapter and the part about accepting love and a new life from the good man that Ms. Roberts finally found. Everyone who contributed to the book was so honest -- I can tell that these people really were affected by the rape to the core of their beings. I highly recommend this book for victims of sexual assault and their friends and family, and for anyone who cares about young women.
