Operation Red Dragon: China's Plot to Invade Taiwan Leads to a Nuclear Confrontation in the Western Pacific

The plot for Operation Red Dragon revolves around the long festering problem concerning the future of the island of Taiwan. It also explores the dangers of using gunboat style diplomacy in dealing with a nuclear-armed adversary. In the story, the newly selected president of the People's Republic of China, Jiang Hu Lee, recognizes that for China to protect its sealanes he must somehow regain control of the former breakaway province. To do so, he also realizes he must find a way to keep the Americans from interfering with his plans. This causes him to seek help from the Russians. When the American president, Jim Grayson, finds out about the deal struck between the two former adversaries, he becomes alarmed and orders the navy to take offensive action. The situation continues to escalate unil it leads to a full-blown nuclear confrontation in the Western Pacific.

3Did Anyone Proof This Book?  Aug 05, 2007
By Brent Calkins
The story was pretty good, although a lot of it was repetitive. The thing that annoyed me about this book was that there were so many typos (repeated words, misspelled words, etc.). There are so many typos, it's like nobody proof read the book at all!

5Operation Red Dragon - A Great Read  Aug 31, 2006
By D. L. Williams
We always look forward to and thoroughly enjoy reading R. J. Schuster's books. His latest "Operation Red Dragon" is a great read! The non-reader in the family finished it in two days because it was so difficult to put down. As with his other two novels - "An Act of Betrayal" and "Rush to Armageddon", Schuster keeps you in suspense, it is really tough to wait until the end of his books to find out what happens. His stories seem so very real due to the very extensive and thorough research that goes into each of his projects.

We are waiting somewhat impatiently for more!

5An urgent message of growing importance  Aug 29, 2006
By D. L. Pritchard
It's scary to realize this could actually happen. It gives credibility to why all the countries of the world should be concerned with control of nuclear technology and weapons. Schuster does a great job of weaving the human element of relationships throughout the book. It was hard to lay the book aside until I reached the conclusion.

5It can hapen -- sonner than later  Aug 16, 2006
By Sam Brown "Sam"
Tremendous grasp of how things happen in the real world. Great insight into how different cultures see the world and their place in that world and the price they're willing to pay to reach their goals. Great storyling. Read it in one setting. Couldn't put it down.
