Paralyzed: A Mystery Cocktail of Medicine and Murder with a Twist of Golf

Dr. Michael Patrick, a career emergency physician, was enjoying the best time of his life. He had risen to the highest rank in national amateur golf, had landed a dream job as an emergency department director in San Francisco and had fallen in love with a beautiful woman. Everything was finally going so well for him until he learned of activities he wasn't supposed to know. The knowledge of these illegal activities led to his attempted murder. The failed effort left him with a brain injury, a broken neck, no memory and paralyzed! This is a story of Michael Patrick's struggle to regain his memory and fight for his life, which was still in danger. It is a unique tale of the politics and subterfuge of the medical profession with a dramatic ending you will enjoy.

5I kept wanting to read the next chapter  Dec 11, 2008
This book was a great mix of twists and turns - a real page-turner. I read the book in one sitting because I kept wanting to "just read the next chapter." I also understand that some of the stories are based on Dr. Howren's experiences on the links and in the ER, which makes me wonder which are real and which are fiction! I look forward to the next novel.

3exciting read  Sep 15, 2008
This was such an orginal concept. I have never seen this idea before. Great writing for a first time author, definitely written by a physician. Fast, easy read for the pool or an evening by the fire
