I was hoping for more from this book. Apr 17, 2010
By Patrick J. Southam Partial Birth Christianity is an interesting book by Jack Klein, who I think must be an interesting man. This book has both strengths and weaknesses. I liked how he talked about a "spectrum of evil."
He writes about ecclesiology - the study of the Christian church - what it is and what it does. This is an immensely important topic for our current century, one that every Christian should think about. The first portion of this book is an extended rant about what is wrong in America and America's Christian churches. The second portion is how to spot what he calls "partial birth christian churches." The third portion is where I had high hopes, and was greatly disappointed. Instead of a prescription for improvement, Mr. Klein writes: "If people read this book, and they express an interest and desire to know, I'll write another book on How to Establish a Biblical Church Structure." That is what I was really hoping he would discuss, laying out his thoughts for us.
Mr. Klein gives the reader things to think about, but the weaknesses of the book outweigh the strengths. This book could have been greatly improved with a good editor; his frequent incorrect use of homonyms is very jarring. He puts all of his Scriptural references at the end of the book, rather than including them in the portion of the book they directly pertain to. He is rather harsh on Bill Clinton for committing adultery on Hillary, but is silent on Newt Gingrich doing the same thing to his first wife, and serving her divorce papers while she was lying in a hospital bed fighting cancer. That's cold! If adultery is wrong for a Democrat, it is wrong for a Republican.
May God bless you Mr. Klein. Keep fighting the good fight.

a must read for every Christian Feb 23, 2007

I've read Partial-Birth Christianity. It's a book to be read by Christians serious about their faith . An eye awakening experience is here to let you see what is happening in our nation . We can no-longer be Christians sitting on the fence. Pew- sitters on Sunday and everyday people following your own wims , wishes , and desires the rest of the week as this is breaking the heart of God. Compromise is out .
We need to be "sold- out for Christ 100 % , not just when we need Jesus to help us through a crisis. Reading this book will have you on your knees .
