Patriot Schemes

A small, cunning group, the Apostles, has hatched a plan to penetrate America's government with a secretly-trained cadre. Four individuals who initially don't know each other-a governor, a foundation executive, a congressional aide and a former corporate whistle-blower-get wind of separate parts of the plan. In Texas, Wisconsin, New York, Virginia and Washington DC, each gradually learns what the others know. Together the four work frantically against an impending, irreversible deadline. In the process of learning that people they thought they knew aren't who they seemed to be, they also discover unexpected personal attractions, even love.

5Patriot Schemes - another thriller from Charles Neff  Nov 29, 2006
By Dana Blozis "Virtually Yourz"
Two years following the release of his debut novel Hidden Impact, author Charles Neff pens another gripping political thriller - Patriot Schemes - a tale of antiterrorist intrigue set in the United States.

Neff begins the fast-pasted novel by introducing each of the story's primary characters, most of them players in various branches of the U.S. government. Initially creating the impression that the characters' roles are unrelated, it soon becomes clear that their association with one another is intertwined in a sticky web of lies and deceit, potentially jeopardizing national security as power mongers rear their ugly heads.

In a classic battle of good versus evil, Neff paints an eerie picture of how much damage money and power can do when combined with evil thoughts and deeds. Neff also sprinkles in a little romance, creating a novel that will appeal to a wide audience.

What will surprise first-time readers of Neff, however, is how he masterfully controls the unfolding of the story...offering enough gripping detail to keep readers on the edge of their seats but without giving away the plot.

With such obvious talent permeating from each and every chapter, Patriot Schemes has the potential to be a best seller. If you haven't read Neff yet, Patriot Schemes will transform you into a faithful fan.

5You can't put it down  Sep 27, 2009
By Julius H. Anderson
Don't pick this up unless you have three uninterupted hours ahead of you- you can't put it down. Rich senators form a secret conspiracy to take over the USA using anti-middle eastern sentiment (post 9-11) somewhat as Hitler used anti-semitism in the 1930's. Secret underground bunkers, private air strips, missing persons, double agents - it's all here, along with a naive hero and heroine(aren't all heros naive?) who fearlessly raid the secret bunker using a bright yellow car, right under the noses of the private security guards.

5A great read!  Jan 23, 2007

Neff spins another great story. I simply couldn't put the book down -stayed up way past my bedtime reading it! Fast-paced plot, with surprises waiting around every corner.. what fun!

5A "Smooth" Read!  Dec 07, 2006
By Marilyn Lowry
After reading Charles Neff's book "Patriot Schemes", I ws left with a combination of fear and hope as to what could happen in our country when some individuals crave power while others fight back. He crafted a plot that kept me mesmerized and on the edge throughout, while creating characters that were believable, definitely not "cardboard". Absolutely well worth reading.

5My kind of book.  Nov 23, 2006
By M. A. Stewart
Patriot Schemes is just my kind of book. Its topic, politics and government, is interesting, and its characters have jobs and live lives that I'm curious about. Watergate and 9-11 make the plot believable, and the interwoven sequence of events is exciting to the point where I had trouble putting the book down. I'd love to read another like this one.
