Pawns of Gods

Joshua Hawkins makes his debut with Pawns of Gods which is all about action, loyalty, and true love. Young readers will be especially delighted in this tale reminiscent of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time. In it, Hawkins creates a world that is dangerous and inspired, a place where anything is possible. Here men and monsters live on a lopsided playing field and it is a world of their own making. A little like chess, Hesto, the god of the underworld, battles Healo, the god of mortal men, while Kithroe, the king of the gods, sees to it no person or lesser god directly interferes. Everything comes to a head when the city of Monsoon is attacked and what is lost for one man will create a strange paradox of power and a search for his beloved wife-to-be. With nothing left to lose, this mortal known as Sav will set forth on a mythical, mindboggling adventure with no cares about the brewing war with only his heart to lead him.
