As I stated in the title: Good, but the latest edition is better.
I bought the book as I needed a refresher course on philosophy, and that's exactly what this book is - all major philosophers crammed into one book. I bought several editions. All are useful, but I'd recommend the 3rd edition over all BY FAR.

Great book if you need to cram overnight for philosophy, political philosophy or even history exam in college. The book contains about 3-4 pages per every political philosopher, so you get enough knowledge to pass an exam.
Easy reading and really user friendly. Philosophers listed: practically every philosopher from Plato and Cicero to Adam Smith and Karl Marx.
I go to Lincoln U. I read the book overnight and got a B (87%) on my political philosophy exam - otherwise I would have to read 8-9 boring books.
