Power Walking: A Journey to Wholeness

POWER WALKING, A Journey to Wholeness, is a collection of poetry and prose that uses walking as a metaphor for attaining a life of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. POWER WALKING describes the successive stages of walking: getting on one's feet, taking baby steps, staying on one's feet and eventually, walking differently. As the author shares her testimony and celebrates her survival, readers are invited to examine their own lives and to recognize that all moments provide lessons and offer choices on taking the next step. Each chapter begins with a whispered prayer and concludes with a shout of praise. Walking is revealed as both a daily experience and a lifetime journey. POWER WALKING inspires and empowers anyone who has ever yearned to triumph over impediments to well-being.

4Power Walking Towards Courage  Mar 04, 2010
While I was reading Power Walking by Maxine Bigsby Cunningham, I was reminded that writing can heal. As an avid reader, who reads for pleasure and for work, its easy for me to forget about what a transformational experience placing words to page can be. Especially if those words are courageous. Ms. Bigsby's work reads like a lyrical diary of a woman who has decided she wants to be well. It's a book that will make you look at your own life and ask, "Do I want to be well?"
