Pralines: A New Perspective

Love desserts with a Southern accent? Then you probably love pralines, the delectable Louisiana treat with a 300 year-old pedigree. Praline recipes are often kept under guard and this treat can be persnickety to make, but Ebony Martin and Monique James, sisters and owners of the gourmet praline company, Southern Delights,Inc., can show you how to make perfect pralines each and every time! In this deliciously informative cookbook, you'll learn tips, tricks and techniques, like why a wooden spoon and a candy thermometer are essential, and how to handle potential praline mishaps and turn them into sweet success. And best of all, you'll not only discover how to make traditional pralines, but you'll also learn how to concoct uniquely modern creations of your own, like spicy mocha praline truffles, mini praline cheesecakes, and even praline coffee.

2Big price for a small book  Nov 09, 2010
By mapgal
This book is so thin and small. It looked like it was a hardcover book but when I got it I was surprised it weighed less than a victoria's secret catalog (thinner too!).
I thumbed through the pages and it looked interesting but some of the print especially the images looked pixelated. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but some do look good. However, for the price, the size/amount of pages of the book is dissapointing. For $24 I can probably find a beefier chocolate book if I just took the time to go to the local barnes and noble.
