Michael Tosner's first novel will make you think and ask a lot of questions. The biggest being, 'Where has this guy been hiding?'. PRIMOGENISIS is a book once you start, you will be hard pressed to put to down. Putting the SCIENCE back in Science-Fiction, Tosner takes you through a fascinating tale, involving a seemingly simple mountain town that may hold the key to some of the biggest questions, the human race have every put forth... 'Who are we?','Where did we come from?' and'Why does every generation produce a person that seems to change the way we see the world?' If you like the places Philip K. Dick and Stephen King take you, you will want to catch this ride up Mr. Tosner's Mountain!
A Journey to Far Away Places Dec 29, 2010
By MerBear This book is begging to be made into a film. The pacing and setting are inherently cinematic. I was impressed with the attention to detail (architecture of alpine villages and the periodic table of elements) and with Mr. Tosner's ability to channel the voice of a strong female lead. The characters are fully-formed and breathing with life. And finally, the themes are very ambitious. Mr. Tosner tackles god/religion, creation/evolution, and good/evil. Definitely worth reading!!
"Primo-Genius" Apr 01, 2008
By K. Andrew Rodgers Mr. Tosner's ability to weave classic storytelling with scientific imagination has a reminiscent echo of the great science fiction masters: Asimov, Dick, Clarke, etc. I was engaged both by the earnestness of character and the unyielding attention to technical detail. The story moved with a quickening pace as the pages begged to be turned. All told, a remarkable first effort from a promising young talent.
A Modern-day tale about an age-old question Mar 04, 2008
By T. Carden As the mystery and storyline unfolded, I found it increasingly difficult to put the book down - so I didn't. An intriguing perspective on science and human development. The characters and venue made the story believable at an engaging pace.
If you like action-packed and thought-provoking books, you'll love this one!
