Principles and Practices of Biblical Parenting: Raising Godly Children

The idea is simple. God is the Designer. Parent His way. We are not experts or perfect parents. We are humbled by our past failures. Our confidence is that by applying God's principles to family life He will restore any family to its glorious design. Principles and Practices of Biblical Parenting explains not only what God says about raising a godly family, but why those principles from God’s Word work. From their experiences in raising eight children, Paul and Linda explain biblical principles and practical advice on key issues including: understanding goals, setting standards, training toddlers, developing self-control, advice to win back your teen’s heart and restore your relationships with your children. God wants you to succeed in raising a wonderful, godly family!

5Video review of Principles and Practices of Biblical Parenting: Raising Godly Children by Paul Bucknell  Nov 28, 2009
By Paul Bucknell
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R27EH86UMP4EJW Get to know the authors, Paul and Linda Bucknell, their family and the design behind this parenting book, Principles and Practices of Biblical Parenting: Raising Godly Children!

In this video review Paul personally takes you on a tour of this practical and effective Christian parenting book.

This review includes photos of their family as well as parenting challenges they have faced.

Paul introduces the contents and design of the book as well as shows some of the book's many helpful diagrams. The goal: they want you to jump ahead of them in knowledge and parenting confidence so that you will raise children with a great heart for God and others.

They desire to pass the many things they have learned from God's Word combined with daily experiences of raising eight children to others. Paul closes by sharing a special story about his grandchild learning self-control.

Paul has much experience teaching parenting and leadership seminars around the world. He has written extensively on marriage, family living and other Christian growth topics.

5informative book, great lessons to learn from who have raised 8 children  May 12, 2008
By L.Z.
I'm not christen, but the book contains plenty examples with generalized interesting principles that every parent (parent-to-be) should take some time to read.

Also works as a manual/reference book for specific problems, but the principles are better executed after reading and some comprehension.

Cheers

5A Must Read for Parents Who Truely Care for The Children  Oct 11, 2008
By A Customer
In a world where children in general are struggling more and more with self-esteem, I really like how this book concentrates on training and building up a child's godly principles, inner characters and strong values. It accurately reminds the reader that this is a much more lasting and valuable investment than focusing on altering their outer elements or environment.

Although the latter is a noble thing in itself (and I personally believe we should do what we could), many times we were so caught up in it that we forgot about the former.

Although this book is from a biblical point of view, I believe it's also suitable for non-Christian who seeks to see their children grow to be a man or woman in principle and character.

This book addresses mom and dad as one great team; what is parental authority according to the bible; regaining the trust of the teens, etc. It also comes with real life example such as high-chair training, solving siblings conflicts/quarrel (which is a true eye opener for me, having grown up in a family of 4 children and all its squabble).

In summary, this book really tells us what "being parents" and "loving children" truly mean and practical guidances/applications to carry them out.
