Printer Street's War

It’s the Second World War and when a bomb drops on Printer Street it brings danger and excitement to the residents of the street, especially Steve and his best friends Brian and Mary. Even a trip to the countryside to pick rose hips, with Brian’s brother Tom and Alan the bully, brings danger as the children are involved in a thrilling rescue of the pilot of a burning bomber. The story is set against the background of life in the streets of Britain in World War Two and includes many authentic touches, such as rationing, clothing coupons, blackout, air raid shelters and the dreaded cod liver oil! As well as the parents of the children the host of other characters include ARP wardens, bomb disposal men, land girls, airmen, and Italian prisoners of war.
