Project Management as Warfare

As a project manager with over 20 years of experience, Gregory has deep expertise in project management. As a military officer studying the art of war, he noticed some significant parallels with the art of good project management. As a PMP and a PgMP with an MS IT (Project Management), and while pursuing a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, he realized that the lessons learned from studying the art of war filled a significant gap in the practice of managing projects. This book is not a dry rendering of the technical aspects of project management in other terms, but rather a completely new look at the aspect of project management that is often forgotten in texts and seminars: managing people to be sure the right things are done at the right time in the right way to ensure project success.

4Useful illustrative metaphor!  Aug 28, 2008
By Greg Shetler "Dux"
Using warfare as a metaphor for project management is a really useful illustration of project management principles. This is not your usual dry, boring rehash of project management theory, but rather in interesting way to view practical realities of "real world" project management.
