A great introduction Dec 17, 2005
By Brett This book is a great introduction to the ideas of propaganda, its purpose,
its goals, its dangers, etc. It doesn't pretend to be an authority.
Instead, it serves only to introduce the reader on the generalities of propaganda,
laying the foundation for a more serious inspection. I highly recommend it for
anyone unfamiliar with the subject.
A useful outline of the subject Aug 08, 2008
By Pen happy teacher This isn't the most comprehensive book on propaganda but it contains a lot of good information. For its size it contains an impressive amount, and I found it woth while. It would make a good starting point to the subject.

Lighted hearted, biased and a good read May 10, 2008

This is a short and simplified book on propaganda that manages to distil most of the basic principles very well. It is easy to read and relatively amusing. I especially like the quotes. It takes no longer than an hour (two at the most) to read and I think even people with knowledge of propaganda techniques would gain from the clarity of the principles shown - there is little extra text to confuse. My only negative comment (hence the 4 stars not 5) is the obvious attempt to use the same techniques he is warning the reader about in condemning the present Bush administration. This is likely to alien some Americans for who the book has obviously been written. Maybe a little bit more subtlety was needed. However, I enjoyed the book immensely
