Lee Mac Sep 25, 2009

This is a hilarious story that is both encouraging and inspirational. The idea here was to create a book that was both entertaining and educational for the reader and the young listener, too.
Difficult to Follow-- a bit too whimsical for a reader looking for science information Aug 06, 2010

As an elementary school teacher previewing science books for my students, I bought this book with the hope it would help students develop a physics background. Kids are incredibly interested in physics, and I wanted a book that inspired curiosity and imagination-- and I can tell that's the aim of this book. However, I give this book two stars, because the storyline jumps around so much it is difficult to follow. My imagination couldn't engage with the story because I was confused. If you are looking for a completely whimsical book that jumps between Einstein and dogs and marshmallows and has a rather "homemade" feel to it-- then this is your book. If you are looking for something that puts quantum physics into terms that kids can understand and that truly got my imagination going, then I would recommend "This Strange Quantum World and You" written by Patricia Topp 1999. One more thought- 16 dollars for this little book is way too expensive!

By stephen r. sara Reading this book makes you wonder who has the wilder imagination: Einstein or author Lee McLaughlin?
It is an entertaining and informative read for both older kids and adults.
I think it is a great learning tool with the added dimension of the author's own photography. I hope the book makes it into many libraries and schools.
I look forward to reading more of Lee McLaughlin's creations.

By F. Murden This book was able to give my daughter a general understanding of quantum physics. However, it did not have information that she could use in her 6th grade research project.
